What is so iconic about Irish Coffee?
Irish coffee is one of the most appreciated cocktails around the globe nowadays. The main ingredient is Irish whiskey, mixed with hot coffee, a bit of sugar and cream on top.
Irish Coffee has a sweet, drunken coffee flavour. The strong coffee gives it a deep rich flavour, the two types of sugar give it a sweet flavour, and the heavy cream gives it a gratifying full mouth feel. Only four components are needed to make a traditional Irish coffee: hot coffee, Irish whiskey, sugar, and whipped cream. These coffees are frequently too sweet and rich in restaurants. Hot coffee and Irish cream liqueur, a blend of Irish whiskey, cream, and sugar, are combined in this sweeter version.
Who invented this drink?

Weather conditions were really bad, and a famous chef Joe Sheridan decided to mix coffee with Irish whiskey, to warm up the passengers while waiting for the takeoff.
Can you get drunk with Irish coffee?
The modest quantity of alcohol in Irish coffee won’t get you buzzed, but it will lift your spirits. Caife Gaelach is the Irish name for this coffee, which is sometimes referred to as a Gaelic Coffee.
This was traditionally made with black coffee, sugar, whipped cream, and Irish whiskey. This mix resulted in a smooth-tasting drink that rapidly became popular.
This Coffee is made with hot filter coffee, Irish whiskey, and sugar and is served in a stemmed heatproof glass known as a toddy glass. It is topped with delicately whipped cream. It may counteract some of the effects of the coffee, but not enough to cause your body to get confused. The nervous system is stimulated by both coffee and alcohol.
How did it get to the United States?
Ten years later this was presented to the USA by a travel writer Stanton Delaplane. He told his friend and the owner of the Buena Vista Cafe in San Francisco, California.
They tried to recreate the recipe but there was little success. The owner decided to offer Joe Sheridan a job in Buena Vista and he accepted.
